When it comes to discussing the subject of 9/11, it seems some celebrities don't understand that extreme sensitivity is always required. Actor Mark Wahlberg learned this lesson the hard way after some comments he made in a recent interview with Men's Journal offended family members and survivors of the 2001 terrorist attacks.
Wahlberg may have felt like he had good karma back in 2001 - he was scheduled to be on one of the flights that crashed into the World Trade Center, but ended up skipping out. While discussing that twist of fate with the magazine, he said that had he been on the flight, "it wouldn't have went down like it did. There would have been a lot of blood in that first-class cabin and then me saying, 'OK, we're going to land somewhere safely, don't worry.'"
Wahlberg may have some experience acting like a hero on the big screen, but it's not hard to see why these comments came off sounding arrogant and disrespectful. Fortunately, Wahlberg has seen the error of his ways and released an apology to the families of victims.
