They may have suffered through one of Hollywood’s most highly publicized splits, but Ben Affleck is still pals with his former fiancee Jennifer Lopez!

The 40-year-old actor opens up in the new issue of The Hollywood Reporter, revealing that he not only still speaks to his Gigli costar, but also gushes about what a great person she is, and RadarOnline.com has the details.

"We don't have the kind of relationship where she relies on me for advice," he explains, "but we do have the kind of relationship where there'll be an e-mail saying, 'Oh, your movie looks great.' I remember when she got American Idol. I said: 'This was really smart. Good luck.' I touch base.”

Affleck, who also stays in touch with ex-girlfriend Gwyneth Paltrow, has only kind things to say about J. Lo.

“I respect her. I like her. She's put up with some stuff that was unfair in her life, and I'm really pleased to see her successful."
